Embedding a Dashboard at the Project Level

Reviewing data, especially newly submitted data, while analyzing data will streamline data analysis and verification. Embedding a dashboard in a project will allow project managers, data managers, and other project stakeholders to view the collected data simultaneously to simplify data verification, data cleaning, and quickly identify gaps and unexpected results.

Users can embed dashboards from domains tied to:

  1. PowerBi (i.e. https://app.powerbi.com/XXXXX)
  2. Superset (i.e.  https://discover.inform.unicef.org/superset/XXXX)
  3. Akuko (i.e. https://app.akuko.io/post/XXXX)
  4. Tableau (i.e. https://public.tableau.com/XXXXX)
  5. Infogram (i.e. https://infogram.com/)

NOTE: If you would like to use a dashboard from other domains, share the dashboard platform name and standard dashboard URL domain with our support team via the email support@ona.io.

Users can embed one dashboard per project. To add and/or view an embedded dashboard, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the project you would like to add the dashboard.
  2. Click the three dots for more options, and select Embedded Dashboard.
  1. Enter a URL. Ensure the data visualization software allows users to embed the dashboard. If the software does not allow dashboards to be embedded, the dashboard will not appear.
  1. Enter a description in the Add Description markdown enabled text box. To see how the text will appear, you can select the Preview tab. If you want to make updates, navigate back to the Add Description tab. To learn how to use markdown, take a look at these cheat sheets.
  1. Click Embed Dashboard
  1. The embedded dashboard should appear as shown below.

If you need to update the embedded dashboard URL or description, go to the hamburger menu More (highlighted by the red box) and select Edit.

A pop-up module will appear with the URL and the Add description markdown-enabled textbox with the Preview tab. Make the desired updates and select Update Embedded Dashboard, or select Cancel to skip making any updates to the URL or description.

To delete the embedded dashboard completely, go to the hamburger menu More and select Delete. A pop-up window will appear asking, “Are you sure you would like to delete the embedded dashboard and the associated description? Confirm Delete.” Select Delete to delete the embedded dashboard, or select Cancel to skip deleting the embedded dashboard.

Upon deleting the embedded dashboard, you will be taken back to the module to add an embedded dashboard.

To go back to the project page at any time from the embedded dashboard pages, select the project name (highlighted by the red arrows below).

NOTE:

  1. This is a premium feature, and it is only included in the paid plans
  2. If any authentication is required to access the embedded dashboard, this should be managed by the data visualization software, from which the embedded dashboard originates.
  3. This feature does not provide any ability to link form data to a dashboard.
